SAD NEWS | American Violin Dealer Dan Schab Has Died in a House Fire

Mr Schab, a cello graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and the Cincinnati Conservatory, had owned and run Schab Violins in Georgia, US since 2010.

American stringed instrument dealer and cellist, Dan Schab has passed away from injuries sustained in house fire in Georgia, United States.

It has been reported in local media that Mr Schab, 58 was pulled unconscious from his home in Athens' Clarke County yesterday evening before later dying at the Athen Regional Medical Centre.

Mr Schab, a cello graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory and the Cincinnati Conservatory, had owned and run Schab Violins on Athen’s Prince Avenue since 2010.

The cause of the fire is not immediately known.
