Barbican Quartet Signs with Domselaer Artist Management
The London-based group will be managed by Marco van de Klundert and Alyssa Huisman
Comprising violinists Amarins Wierdsma and Kate Maloney, violist Christoph Slenczka, and cellist Yoanna Prodanova, the Barbican Quartet won the prestigious ARD International String Quartet Competition in 2022 — as well as the prize for the commissioned work, the Genuin Classics CD production prize, the GEWA prize, and the Henle Urtext prize.
The group has appeared in festivals such as Peasmarsh Festival, Vibre! Quatuors à Bordeaux, Zeister Muziekdagen, Montreal Chamber Music Festival, IMS Prussia Cove, and Aldeburgh. In addition, its performances have been broadcast on BR Klassik Radio, NPO Radio 4, and BBC Radio 3.
The Barbican quartet is mentored by Günter Pichler at the Reina Sofia String Quartet Academy in Madrid, as well as by Quatuor Ébène in Hochschule für Musik München. They have received additional support from the Belcea Quartet, Alasdair Tait, Andras Keller, and David Waterman.
Other musicians on Domselaer's roster include violinist SongHa Choi, conductor Frans-Aert Burghgraef, and soprano Elisabeth Hetherington.
