‘Best Soundtrack’ Composer Academy Award Nominations Announced

Romantic musical La La Land has been nominated for 14 Academy Awards - including composer Justin Hurwitz for ‘Best Original Soundtrack’

It has been announced today that romantic musical La La Land has been nominated for 14 Academy Awards - including composer Justin Hurwitz for ‘Best Original Soundtrack’.

Fellow 'Best Soundtrack' nominees are composers Mica Levi for ‘Jackie’, Dustin O’Halloran and Hauschka for ‘Lion’, Nicholas Brittle for ‘Moonlight’ and Thomas Newman for ‘Passengers’.

Surprisingly John Williams’ score for Steven Spielberg’s ‘The BFG’ was not shortlisted this year.

It was also announced that Meryl Streep has been nominated for ‘Best Actress’ for her role as opera singer ‘Florence Foster Jenkins’.
