British Association for Performing Arts Medicine Launches Digital Tool
The online program by the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine will help artists maintain healthy and sustainable lifestyles
The PRS Members’ Fund has partnered with the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine (BAPAM) to create InTune, a free online platform helping music creators to sustainably maintain their careers.
Officially launching on June 3, 2025, InTune is a personalized digital tool designed to aid artists in managing and improving their mental and physical well-being.
Built by people who have experienced how demanding life in music can be, the tool also offers resources to help creators manage their finances and navigate writer’s block, among other challenges.
To access the benefits, users are invited to take a short questionnaire. A wellbeing report is then generated from the responses, highlighting strengths and areas where support may be needed.
InTune will also suggest specialist resources and the different services provided by BAPAM and other initiatives, tailored to what the user would find most helpful.
InTune is described by PRS Members’ Fund patron Heather Small MBE as “an innovative health and wellbeing facility for music creators, by music creators.”
“Research shows that seventy-five percent of musicians and composers will have an injury or illness that impacts their career,” said BAPAM CEO Claire Cordeaux. “Many of these problems are preventable. With most musicians and composers working in freelance positions, it is vital that they are supported with specialist, clinically sound health and wellbeing support.”
