Eminent British conductor Sir Jeffrey Tate has died from a heart attack, in Bergamo, Italy - aged 74

Eminent British conductor Sir Jeffrey Tate has died from a heart attack, in Bergamo, Italy - aged 74.

A protege of Sir Georg Solti, he served Principal Conducting positions with the English Chamber Orchestra, Royal Opera House, Rotterdam Philharmonic, San Carlo Theatre of Naples, Hamburg Symphony and the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra.

Maestro Tate conducted his last performance on May 31st, just 3 days prior, in Trento, Italy - with the Haydn Orchestra.

Our condolences are with his partner, family, friends and colleagues.
