The Dutch-based Pentatone Label has today announced the signing of the Calder String Quartet to an exclusive global recording contract.
Graduates of the Thornton School of Music, Colburn Conservatory of Music and the Juilliard School, the ensemble are former recipients of a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant.
"We are honored to sign with the Pentatone label ... with its venerable catalogue and dedication to recording classical music …," the ensemble, comprising violinists Benjamin Jacobson and Andrew Bulbrook, violist Jonathan Moerschel and cellist Eric Beyers, have said.
“We are looking forward to this relationship and the opportunity to catalogue and curate the breadth of our endeavours in our new home," they have said.

The Calder Quartet’s first release on Pentatone will focus on the Beethoven Quartets, the label has indicated.
