Car Crashes into Violin Shop in Nashville
Williams Fine Violins is undergoing repair after a speeding driver crashed into the property
Located on Donelson Pike, Nashville, Tennessee, Williams Fine Violins is known for its instruments and its sign in front of the store, which displays a regular rotation of jokes, store owner Dustin Williams said.
However, the sign is no longer standing after it was completely smashed by a speeding driver who crossed traffic on Donelson Pike and jumped the curb, reported the Metro Nashville Police Department. The car almost struck the store itself, and the force of the crash had blown out a door of the shop.
“To get a car to flip like that up over on top of the sign — that’s crazy,” Williams said. “If the cement porch hadn’t been there, he probably would have gone clear through the shop.”
The damage to Williams Fine Violins is estimated to be around $50,000-$60,000.
To slow down drivers in the shop’s vicinity, officials with the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure are now looking to implement multiple traffic calming projects.
