Cardiff's Harlequin Agency to Merge with London's Keynote Artist Management
Harlequin, which was founded in 1986, represents artists including Sir Bryn Terfel
The Welsh talent management company Harlequin Agency has merged with London's Keynote Artist Management, which is run by Libby Abrahams.
Founded in 1986 by the Welsh mezzo-soprano Doreen O'Neill, Harlequin largely represents Welsh artists. One of the most prominent artists on its books is the Welsh bass-baritone Sir Bryn Terfel, who recently appeared at the King's Coronation.
Artists on Keynote's roster include Timothy Chooi, Teodor Currentzis, Gemma New, Christian Reif, and Paul Carey Jones.
"We are excited to announce that Sir Bryn Terfel’s Cardiff-based Harlequin Agency has joined forces with leading classical music agency Keynote Artist Management," the company wrote. "The two distinct and established agencies have over 45 years of experience between them, and the new company will offer increased capability to support a growing roster, including a revitalized singers’ division."
"From the onset, Harlequin Agency has played a pivotal role in developing and building my career," Terfel said. "It has always been my dream to continue its work and expand the agency’s potential. I am thrilled that the fabulous Libby Abrahams and her company, Keynote Artist Management, share these same creative values. The merger of these two dedicated, hard working companies will be a dream come true. I look forward to an exciting new venture and adding more strings to our bows!"
