Celebrating Women Luthiers Exhibit Announces 2024 Locations
The exhibition will come to Washington D.C., New York, and Batavia, Illinois in May and June
The second Celebrating Women Luthiers International Exhibit, which will be held during May and June 2024, has recently announced the its locations.
The event will celebrate the contributions that women make to the world of lutherie, highlighting the often overlooked craft of female luthiers from all over the world.
The exhibition will travel to Potter Violins in Washington, D.C . between May 3 and 11. Then it will be hosted by Reuning & Son Violins in New York from June 3 to June 9, and then at Sapp Violins in Batavia, Illinois from July 13 to 19.
At present, the list of participating luthiers includes Ada Quaranta, AK Alexander, Amelyse A. Arroyo, Andrea Castaneda, Anna Sandys, Caitlin McGinn, Carrie Scoggins, Corinne Hopkins, Federica Thoeny and Raquel Salazar Saldivar, Iris Zhulla, Isabelle Wilbaux, Itzel Ávila, Jennifer Creadick, Kathleen Thomas, Katrien Vandermeersch, Marilyn Wallin, Marit Danielson, Nina F. Poots, Paris Andrew, Pauline Dawson, Rebecca Pierce, Robyn Sullivan, Sandra Lang, Sara Deliberato, Sheena Laurie, Shelby Martignacco, Sofia Vettori, Stella Eunbyul Yoo, Suzy Schmitt, and Ute Zahn.
"A lot of work is happening in the background with the shops and all the makers participating," the exhibit's organizers wrote on social media. "I have been consistently delighted and amazed by the skills and talents of all of my colleagues who have come together to ensure this event will be a smashing success."
