American cellist Andrew Eckard has passed away - after a lengthy battle with a brain tumour

A student of Janos Starker and Tsuyoshi Tsutsumi, Mr Eckard served principal positions with the New York City Opera, Honolulu Symphony Orchestra and the Bach Chamber Orchestra

Our condolences are with his family, friends, colleagues and students
