Chelsea Gallo Promoted to Resident Conductor at the Florida Orchestra

Gallo, who was previously the assistant to Music Director Michael Francis, will conduct mainstage concerts in the coming season

Conductor Chelsea Gallo, who has recently completed a stint as the assistant conductor to Michael Francis at The Florida Orchestra (TFO), has been promoted to the role of Resident Conductor in recognition of her excellent work with the ensemble thus far.

As such, Gallo will shoulder more responsibility in the 2023/24 season, and will make her first appearance in the orchestra's mainstage Hough Family Foundation Masterworks series — in a performance of the Saint-Saëns Organ Symphony.

In addition, she will continue her work with TFO's youth, family, and community concerts. These include two Pops concerts, a concert in the Morning Matinee series, and two concerts of chamber music. She will also feature on TFO's new podcast, titled SoundWaves.

A 2022 recipient of the Georg Solti Conducting Grant, Chelsea Gallo is also presently the principal guest conductor of the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, a cover conductor with the New York Philharmonic, and a returning guest conductor with both the Virginia Symphony Orchestra and the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.

In the 2023/24 season, she will also make debuts with the Bozeman Symphony Orchestra and Catapult Opera (NYC).
