24-year-old Danish violinist Christine Bernsted has been awarded 1st prize at the 2018 inaugural Melbourne International Violin Competition – in Melbourne, Australia.
A student of Eszter Haffner at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Christine is a former 1st prize winner at the Rising Stars Grand Prix International Music Competition Berlin and the Golden Classical Music Awards, in New York.
She will receive AUD $5,000 - plus a pair of Nuraphone headphones.
Additional encouragement prizes were awarded to finalists, Anna Dorothea Mutterer, Edward Walton, Emily Leung and Dandan Wang.
