Clarinetist and Conductor Andreas Ottensamer Signs with Askonas Holt
The Austrian musician has joined the artist management agency roster for general management
At the Askonas Holt agency, Andreas Ottensamer will be represented by Edward Pascall, Ollie Haines, and Joy Pidsley.
Since 2011, Ottensamer has served as principal clarinet of the Berliner Philharmoniker. In 2021, he made his conducting debut and won the Neeme Järvi Prize of the Gstaad Festival Conducting Academy.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Ottensamer has worked with Yuja Wang, Seong-Jin Cho, Lisa Batiashvili, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Phillippe Jaroussky, Gautier Capuçon, and Sol Gabetta.
He performs at festivals including the Salzburger Festspiele, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Rheingau Musik Festival, and Festival de Pâques d’Aix en Provence. He is also the artistic director of the Bürgenstock Festival.
For the 2023/24 season, he will make conducting debuts with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Kammerakademie Potsdam, Sofia Philharmonic, Basel Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonisches Orchester Erfurt, Münchner Kammerorchester, Janáček Philharmonic and the Liszt Chamber Orchestra.
He also joins the Orchestre Metropolitain as Artist-in-Residence this season, during which he will lead a performance of Schumann’s Symphony No.1, Brahms’ Tragic Overture, and Augusta Holmès’ La nuit et l’amour.
Recently, Ottensamer returned to conduct the Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra in three concerts featuring Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, Franck’s Symphony in D minor, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, plus concertos by Sibelius, Grieg, and Saint- Saëns.
More conducting engagements will include returning to the Tokyo Symphony, the Aichi Chamber Orchestra, and the Romanian Radio Chamber Orchestra.
