Classic FM Launches Britain's Big Platinum Performance for Amateur Music Groups
Classic FM's newest initiative, Britain's Big Platinum Performance, will mark seventy years on the throne for Queen Elizabeth II. The program will offer professional recording opportunities for seven amateur music groups — one for each decade of Her Majesty's reign.
Interested groups of at least three musicians will select an uplifting, celebratory piece of music and upload a recording of 2-7 minutes, alongside a short video introducing the group.
The initiative is supported by Making Music, an organization that provides amateur music groups in the UK with support in matters such as advocacy, performance and broadcast opportunities, insurance, and building community in the amateur music-making realm.
"In honour of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and to celebrate Classic FM’s 30th anniversary, we are thrilled to be teaming up with Making Music to launch Britain’s Big Platinum Performance," said Philip Noyce, Classic FM's Managing Editor.
"We’re looking forward to shining the spotlight on some of the nation’s hugely talented, non-professional music groups; to recognise their talents and introduce them to the millions of listeners to Classic FM," he added.
You can upload a submission on Classic FM's website.
