Classical:NEXT Announces 2025 Innovation Awards
Three forward-thinking international programs were honored at this year's conference
Classical:NEXT, a global networking conference and showcase festival dedicated to classical and art music, recently came to a close in Berlin, Germany. Its Innovation Awards were given to groundbreaking projects in the classical music industry.
Nominated by international journalists and thought leaders, and then selected by the Classical:NEXT community, the 2025 recipients are: Scottish Opera’s Breath Cycle, Ukraine's OPERA APERTA, and Chile's Clásica No Convencional.
Through singing and songwriting workshops, Scottish Opera’s Breath Cycle (UK) helps people with lung conditions, including Long Covid.
Based in Kyiv, OPERA APERTA is a contemporary opera laboratory known for its 2020 production of Chornobyldorf. It explores new styles in music, theater, media opera, and interdisciplinary practices, earning international acclaim.
Chile's Clásica No Convencional brings classical music to unconventional spaces, creating immersive experiences.
