The celebrated film composer Alexandre Desplat has joined the roster of HarrisonParrott for global management, and will be represented by Moema Parrott and Jasper Parrott.
The recipient of two Academy Awards, three BAFTAs, three César Awards, two Golden Globes, and two GRAMMY awards, among other distinctions, Desplat has written scores for more than 130 films.
He has worked with major directors, including Wes Anderson, Kathryn Bigelow, George Clooney, David Fincher, Stephen Frears, Greta Gerwig, Terence Malick, Roman Polanski, Jacques Audiard, Wim Wenders, and Guillermo del Toro.
Desplat also writes concert works, and in recent seasons has produced the symphonie concertante Pelléas et Mélisande for flautist Emmanuel Pahud, as well as works for Lang Lang and Jean-Yves Thibaudet. In 2020, his first opera En Silence received its premiere in Luxembourg, Paris, and Japan. The work featured a libretto and staging by director-musician and long-term artistic partner, Solrey.
He regularly conducts his own works in performance, and in this capacity has led orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre National de France, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Wiener Symphoniker.
"We feel most privileged to be working with Alexandre, an artist of such huge talent and caliber, ranging through his mythic film scores but also in his symphonic works and as a conductor," said Jasper Parrott. "We are excited to be able to work together with him to develop collaborations with top level orchestras and institutions around the world as well as with great international soloists."
