Concert Artists Guild Announces 2024 Finalists
The competition has selected five instrumentalists and three ensembles to advance to the final round
Founded in 1951 and based in New York City, the Concert Artists Guild (CAG) has supported the careers of over 500 emerging musicians. Open to musicians under 35, depending on the instrument/vocal category, its annual competition offers a platform for national and international career development.
The eight finalists are violinist Nathan Amaral, The Dolphins string quartet, cellists Leland Ko and Amelia Zitoun, saxophonist Valentin Kovalev, pianist Yun Janice Lu, the Poiesis Quartet, and the Warren & Flick string duo.
All winners will receive management from CAG in North America, a New York debut performance opportunity, and participation in CAG's Citizen Musician Bootcamp.
Additionally, Grand Winners will receive international management (Americas and Europe) jointly with CAG and with London’s Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT), as well as a performance at the prestigious Wigmore Hall.
The finalists were selected out of 35 candidates from the semi final round. Chaired by Kathleen Gerety, the competition’s 2024 jury comprises John Glover, Tim Mar, and Ed Yim.
“Congratulations to the 2024 CAG Competition Finalists! We are thrilled to share with you the incredible 5 soloists and 3 ensembles who will advance to the live Final Round on May 10 at the DiMenna Center’s Cary Hall!” CAG shared on Instagram. “Thank you to everyone who applied to this year’s competition and for the energy, enthusiasm, and hard work you brought to your applications.”
