Concert Artists Guild Announces Winners of the 2023 Victor Elmaleh Competition

Two soloists and three ensembles won this year's competition, gaining management in the Americas and Europe and international performance opportunities

Since 1951, the Concert Artists Guild (CAG) empowers young musicians to launch sustainable, unique, and relevant careers, assisting them in making an impact on the world through music.

The 2023 edition of CAG's Victor Elmaleh Competition has recently come to a close. The winners include:

Nina Bernat, double bass
• Njioma Chinyere Grevious, violin
• Abeo Quartet, string quartet
• Best Friends Duo, violin and guitar duo
• Dior Quartet, string quartet

This year's Grand Prize winners will receive international management in the Americas and Europe jointly with CAG and Young Classical Artists Trust (YCAT) in London, performances at Merkin Hall in New York and Wigmore Hall in London, and the opportunity to participate in the organization's Citizen Musician Bootcamp.

All other winners will receive North American management with CAG, a New York debut performance, and participation in Citizen Musician Bootcamp.

The 2023 jury comprised Kazem Abdullah, Jenny Bilfield, Adriaan Fuchs, John Glover, Shirley Kirshbaum, Gaetan Le Divelec, Anne Akiko Meyers, and Conrad Tao.

"What an absolute honor and dream to be one of winners of the CAG competition this year!!" wrote the Abeo Quartet on social media. "Congratulations to our very own Njioma Chinyere Greviou for also winning as a soloist, to the Dior Quartet, our string quartet friends we’ve known and shared memories with for 4 years, and to the other winners as well. We want to thank the Calidore String Quartet for their mentorship over the years and all of our individual teachers, friends, and family for their support. Thank you all for always bringing us back the joy and we hope to see you at a concert soon!"

The prestigious competition has helped to develop the careers of a number of young musicians, including VC Artists Inmo Yang, Yoojing Jang, Geneva Lewis, and Alexi Kenney.
