Concours Musical International de Montréal Announces Voice Grand Prize Winner
Australian mezzo-soprano Fleuranne Brockway took first prize
The Concours musical international de Montréal's (CMIM) 23rd edition has come to a close this weekend. During the final round, competitors performed with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM), the official orchestra of the Concours musical international de Montréal, led by conductor Patrick Summers.
Australian mezzo-soprano Fleuranne Brockway has been crowned the Grand Laureate of the Voice 2025 Edition. First Prize includes a cash prize of CAD $30,000, the Joseph-Rouleau Career Development Grant worth $40,000 (in partnership with the Azrieli Foundation), and the Opéra de Montréal Aria Prize of $5,000 with an engagement for a role in an upcoming season of the Opéra de Montréal.
Second prize and $25,000 went to tenor Junho Hwang from South Korea, while third prize and $20,000 went to baritone Theodore Platt from the UK.
The International Jury of Voice 2025 was chaired by Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka. The jury included Harolyn Blackwell, Iain Burnside, Étienne Dupuis, Anthony Freud, Susan Graham, Roberto Mauro, and Christina Scheppelmann.
