Norway's Stavanger Symphony Announces New Chief Conductor

The Stavanger Symphony has announced the appointment of Latvian conductor Andris Poga as its new Chief Conductor
The Stavanger Symphony Orchestra, in Stavanger, Norway has this week announced the appointment of 41-year-old Latvian conductor Andris Poga as its new Chief Conductor – effective from the commencement of the 2021/2022 season.
A graduate of the University of Latvia, Andris is a former 1st prize winner at the Evgeny-Svetlanov International Conducting Competition.
He has previously served as Assistant Conductor to the Boston Symphony and the Orchestre de Paris - and as Music Director of the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra.
