Conductor Giancarlo Guerrero Signs with IMG Artists
Guerrero will be represented by Derek Chandruang in Europe
The South American conductor Giancarlo Guerrero has signed with IMG Artists for European management, where he will be represented by the company's Senior Vice President, Derek Chandruang.
A six-time GRAMMY Award-winning conductor, Guerrero is presently in his fifteenth season as Music Director of the Nashville Symphony, where he has given eleven world premieres and made fifteen recordings of American music. He also recently concluded a six-season term as Music Director of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic.
In the current season, he made guest conducting appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Brussels Philharmonic, Gulbenkian Orchestra, and Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao.
For ten years, Guerrero conducted the Cleveland Orchestra and held the post of Principal Guest Conductor of The Cleveland Orchestra Miami Residency. He has also served as Music Director of the Eugene Symphony, and Associate Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra.
"When we met earlier this year I was immediately impressed by Derek Chandruang’s enthusiasm for music and commitment to his artists," Guerrero said. "I am pleased to begin our work together and am confident that IMG Artists – an agency known for excellence and worldwide reach – will be an excellent partner for my work in Europe."
"I’m absolutely thrilled to have Giancarlo Guerrero joining my roster of artists!" Chandruang said. "I’ve followed Giancarlo for some years now and have always held great respect and admiration for his musicianship, his innate sense of leadership, and his creative drive. He is always full of energy and ideas and is an inspiring presence. I very much look forward to working with him!"
