Dalia Stasevska Wins Royal Philharmonic Society Conductor Award
According to the RPS, her win is in part due to the "energy and integrity she has brought to her new association with the BBC Symphony Orchestra"
A graduate of the Sibelius Academy and the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, the 36-year-old Finnish conductor is the Principal Guest Conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the designated Chief Conductor of the Lahti Symphony Orchestra.
The Royal Philharmonic Society Awards, are given annually to musicians nominated by members of the Society and from those who work in the classical music industry. The aim of the awards is to "celebrate the quality, impact and ingenuity of the finest artists and creative forces at work today."
“It is a tremendous honour to receive the Conductor’s Royal Philharmonic Society Award and an enormous thank you to the RPS," said Dalia Stasevska. "The UK holds a very special place for me. I feel this award also goes to the BBC Symphony Orchestra with whom I have started a musical journey as their Principal Guest Conductor."
