American double bassist Dwight Shambley has passed away – aged 70

American double bassist Dwight Shambley has passed away – aged 70.

A graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Mr Shambley had served as a member of the Dallas Symphony since 1972 - and was a co-founder of the Dallas Symphony Young Strings program.

Our condolences are with his family, friends, students and colleagues.
