22 year old American cellist, Eunghee Cho performing Chinese composer, Damin Ren’s newly-premiered work ‘Cantonese Capriccio No. 2’ for Cello and Piano.

Commissioned by the 2016 Schoenfeld International Cello Competition, the new 4 minute cello virtuoso work is based on melodic elements of Guangdong music - and utilises traditional, Western, modern and jazz composition techniques.

Professor Damin Ren currently serves a distinguished Composition & Music Theory position on faculty at the Xinghai Conservatory of Music, in Guangzhou, China. He also serves Visiting Professorships at the Central Conservatory, China Conservatory and the Shanghai Conservatory.
