Brazilian Double Bassist Antonio Arzolla has Died, Age 54

Arzolla taught bass at the University of Rio de Janeiro and performed in the Symphonic Orchestra of the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro

Arzolla passed away from unknown causes.

"Professor Arzolla was one of the pillars of musical education in double bass in Brazil," bassist Alexandre Ritter said on Facebook. "A great artist, sensitive and very polite, Arzolla is in our memory with great affection as someone who transformed our country and our world into a better place."
