American classical and jazz double bassist and cellist Buell Neidlinger has passed away from a heart attack – aged 82
American classical and jazz double bassist and cellist Buell Neidlinger has passed away from a heart attack – aged 82.
A student of Yale University, Mr Neidlinger was as former member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Warner Bros. Studio Orchestra, Houston Symphony and the Boston Symphony Orchestra - and performed regularly with jazz luminaries, including Cecil Talyor, Joe Sullivan, Steve Lacy, Archie Shepp, Frank Zappa, Jean-Luc-Ponty, Herbie Nichols, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
He also served teaching positions at the New England Conservatory and the California Institute of the Arts.
