British cellist Douglas Cummings has passed away – aged 67.
A student of Gregor Piatigorski, he served as Principal cellist with the London Symphony Orchestra for 24 years – and held prominent teaching positions at London's Royal Academy of Music, the Royal Welsh College of Music and Oundle School.
Douglas Cummings will be remembered in history for having given the premiere performance of Andre Previn's cello concerto.
