DYNAMIKfest Salzburg Festival to Collaborate with Classeek
Three young artists from Classeek's Ambassador Programme will open the Austrian festival
The DYNAMIKfest Salzburg, which is set to take place from October 6 to 12, 2024, will partner with the Swiss agency Classeek to present the festival's opening concert.
The DYNAMIKfest Salzburg offers chamber music concerts with varied programs of classical and contemporary masterpieces, world and Austrian premieres of commissioned works, and discussions with the most important contemporary composers.
Three young artists from Classeek's flagship initiative, the Ambassador Programme, will present a program of music by Dohnányi and Schubert. They are Élise Bertrand (violin), Paul Zientara (viola), and Jeein You (cello). Alongside the canonic works on the program, the trio will also give the Austrian premiere of a new work by Bertrand herself.
Classeek's Ambassador Programme provides emerging musicians with a tailored one-year program of performance opportunities, professional development, and support in raising their profiles as artists. Alumni of the program include VC Artist SUUVI (Sophia Bacelar) and artistic director of the DYNAMIKfest Salzburg, violinist Clarissa Bevilacqua.
In 2024, the festival also welcomes cellist Giovanni Sollima as its Artist-in-Residence. He will act as a teacher and mentor to the young musicians, as well as appearing with a string quartet comprising violinists Seiji Okamoto and Larissa Cidlinsky, violist Kinga Wojdalska, and cellist Brannon Cho.
"We are very excited to partner with Classeek for our opening concert this year," said Bevilacqua. "Their mission of discovering, supporting, and promoting outstanding classical musicians aligns perfectly with our own mission to provide a platform for showcasing emerging talent. Together, we aim to inspire and elevate the next generation of musicians, fostering artistic growth and contributing to the vibrant future of classical music."
"Partnering with DYNAMIKfest for this opening concert perfectly reflects our commitment to providing meaningful opportunities for young artists to showcase their talents on prestigious stages," said Catarina Amon, the founder and CEO of Classeek. "This collaboration highlights the incredible artistry of our Ambassador Programme musicians and reinforces our belief in the importance of fostering emerging talent, not just through visibility but by offering them platforms that allow their unique voices to resonate globally."
