€30,000 Violin Stolen from Amsterdam Train Passenger
The police are seeking information relating to this theft, which took place inside an international train at Amsterdam Central Station
A passenger on a train bound for Germany had her valuable violin stolen from inside the train while it was stationary at Amsterdam Central Station. The theft took place on Sunday, October 29, around 4:30pm.
Valued at €30,000, the stolen violin was inside a dark-colored rectangular case. Amsterdam locals should keep an eye out for the instrument in case thieves try to sell it. The police are also seeking anyone who may have witnessed the theft.
"This is not just any violin, but a special one," the police statement reads. "The owner would like to have her violin back, and the police are more than willing to arrest the individual responsible for its theft."
