Eastern Music Festival Announces 2022 Season
Based in Greensboro, North Carolina, the Eastern Music Festival (EMF) celebrates its 61st season this year as a classical music festival and summer educational program for all orchestral instruments.
This summer will see EMF return to regular in-person programming for the first time since having to cancel their live 2020 edition due to the COVID-19 pandemic and then operating at a limited capacity in 2021.
They will be holding over 60 performances by various ensembles at its home venue in Guilford Colleges’ Dana Auditorium and others in Greensboro and Boone, North Carolina.
The lineup will include the Eastern Chamber Players, concerts featuring EMF Faculty Artists, student recitals, EMF Young Artists Orchestras, and the Eastern Festival Orchestra led by Gerard Schwarz.
Guest artists comprise violinist Lara St. John, and pianists Santiago Rodriguez and Alexander Toradze, alongside EMF artists guitarist Jason Vieaux, violinist Jeff Multer, and cellist Julian Schwarz.
“The last few years have proven that anything is possible even under the most challenging circumstances, but with eyes on the horizon, the ability to produce a full-scale festival on-par with festivals in years past this summer brings immense joy to the entire EMF family,” said EMF’s executive director, Chris Williams in the press release.
The festival’s full season will be announced in May. Tickets will be available here from May 20, 2022.
