Eastern Music Festival Extends Music Director Gerard Schwarz to 2023

The Eastern Music Festival has announced the contract extension of Music Director Gerard Schwarz - through to the conclusion of the 2023 season

The Eastern Music Festival, in Greensboro, North Carolina, United States, has this week announced the contract extension of Music Director Gerard Schwarz - through to the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Maestro Schwarz has served as Music Director of the festival since 2008.

“We are so pleased to continue the deep relationship EMF has with Maestro Schwarz ... he has had a lasting impact on the whole Festival community with his genuine commitment to what we do every year at EMF guiding and encouraging our students, acclaimed faculty, and esteemed guest artists in the works of the great masters, past and present,” Festival Board Chair Time Lane has said.

“Working with EMF is a genuine honor and privilege ... I am delighted to extend my contract with EMF and look forward to making beautiful music together for the years to come,” the 71-year-old former Seattle Symphony and Mostly Mozart Festival Music Director has said.
