ECHO Rising Stars Announced for the 2026/27 Season
The Amelio Trio, Javus Quartett, violinist Ava Bahari, cellist Petar Pejčić, and sopranos Camila Mandillo and Elionor Martinez will be offered concert and project opportunities
Founded in 1995, the Rising Stars program of the European Concert Hall Organisation (ECHO) has supported more than 150 early-career artists, including Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Jörg Widmann, Janine Jansen, Renaud Capuçon, Kian Soltani, Quarteto Casals, Belcea Quartet, and Modigliani Quartet.
The program is targeted at musicians who are already established in their home country, but who would benefit from increased exposure in other European nations. In order to be selected, musicians must be nominated by the artistic staff of particular concert halls.
ECHO has recently announced the Rising Stars for the 2026/27 season; they are the Amelio Trio, violinist Ava Bahari, Javus Quartett, cellist Petar Pejčić, and sopranos Camila Mandillo and Elionor Martinez.
The Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Kölner Philharmonie, Barbican Centre, and the Philharmonie Luxembourg all nominated the German-based Amelio Trio, which comprises violinist Johanna Schubert, cellist Merle Geißler, and pianist Philipp Kirchner.
Violinist Ava Bahari was nominated by the Konserthuset Stockholm, Cité de la Musique – Philharmonie de Paris, and NOSPR Katowice.
The Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Wien, and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg all nominated the Javus Quartett, which comprises violinists Marie-Therese Schwöllinger and Alexandra Moser, violist Marvin Stark, and cellist Oscar Hagen.
The Serbian cellist Petar Pejčić was nominated by the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, Konzerthaus Dortmund, and Palau de la Música Catalana.
The Belgium-based soprano Camila Mandillo was nominated by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Bozar in Brussels, and the Casa da Música Porto — while the Switzerland-based soprano Elionor Martinez received nominations from the Palau de la Música Catalana, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, and Barcelona’s L’Auditori.
