Felix Mildenberger Awarded 1st Prize at LSO’s Donatella Flick Conducting Comp
28-year-old Felix Mildenberger has been awarded 1st prize winner at the London Symphony Orchestra‘s 2018 Donatella Flick Conducting Competition
28-year-old Felix Mildenberger from Germany has today been announced as the 1st prize winner at the London Symphony Orchestra‘s 2018 Donatella Flick Conducting Competition - in London.
He has served as the Assistant Conductor of the Orchestre National de France since 2017.
Open to European conductors aged 30 years and younger, Felix will receive £15,000 – plus an invitation to serve as the London Symphony’s Assistant Conductor for up to one year, working alongside Music Director Sir Simon Rattle and Principal Guest Conductors François-Xavier Roth and Gianandrea Noseda.
This year’s jury comprised: Lennox Mackenzie (Chairman), Sian Edwards, Tadaaki Otaka, Christine Pendrill, Vadim Repin and Yan Pascal.
Previous 1st prize winners include: Aziz Shokhakimov, Lorenzo Viotti, Maxime Pascal, Ben Gernon, Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, Ainārs Rubikis, David Afkham and Kerem Hasan.
