The young Finnish conductor Kristian Sallinen recently joined the London-based management agency HarrisonParrott for worldwide general management. He will be represented by Katie Cardell-Oliver and Marissa Pueschel.
Sallinen is a current student of Sakari Oramo at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, where he is studying orchestral conducting. Originally a violinist, Sallinen switched to the viola in 2013. He is a member of the Seele Quartet and won third prize in the 2017 edition of the Finnish National Viola Competition.
Sallinen has already worked with a number of prominent Finnish orchestras, including the Finnish Radio Symphony, Helsinki Philharmonic, Sinfonia Lahti, and Tapiola Sinfonietta. In the near future, he will make his debut with Sinfonieorchester Basel and will return to Sinfonia Lahti, as well as appearing with the Lapland and Ostrobothnian chamber orchestras.
"I'm thrilled to announce that I have joined HarrisonParrott for general management!" wrote Sallinen on social media.
