Fischoff Chamber Music Competition Announces 2023 Jurors
The 50th Fischoff Competition is scheduled for May 12 - 14, 2023 on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana
Founded in 1973 in South Bend, Indiana, USA, the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition has grown to become one of the largest chamber music competitions in the world. 2023 marks the 50th edition of the event, and applications to compete are due on February 22, 2023.
The jury for the Senior String Event will be:

Anne Epperson, piano
Honggang Li, viola
Keith Robinson, cello
The jury for the Junior String Event will be:
Rieko Aizawa, piano
Michael Cameron, cello
Rebecca Henry, violin
In each Senior Division category (Wind and String), three medals and cash prizes will be awarded. (Cash amounts are per ensemble, not per member):
1st Prize and Gold Medal - $5,000
2nd Prize and Silver Medal - $4,000
3rd Prize and Bronze Medal - $3,000
In addition, the Senior Division Gold Medalists will be awarded one of the following prizes:
Grand Prize - $15,000 ($20,000 total prize money)
Double Gold Tour Prize - $5,000 ($10,000 total prize money)
The Grand Prize includes a special medal and $15,000 to be awarded in two $7,500 increments after the completion of tours of the Midwest (autumn 2023) and Italy (summer 2024). The Grand Prize Winner is obligated to perform all concerts on the tour, which includes a trip to Italy in the summer of 2024 for several concerts at the Emilia Romagna Festival.
Since its founding, more than 7,400 musicians have participated in the annual competition, including former Grand Prize recipients VC Artists Calidore Quartet, Ulysses, and the Dover Quartet. The Terra String Quartet won last year's edition.
Recently, Scott Campbell was named the organization's new executive director. Campbell succeeds Kara Kane in the role, who will be staying on at Fischoff serving as Education Director.
