Candidates Announced for USA's 2018 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition

The Senior and Junior ensemble candidates have been announced for the 2018 45th Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition

The Senior and Junior ensemble candidates have been announced for the 2018 45th Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition – to be held in South Bend, Indiana, United States from the 11th to the 13th of May.

The 2018 Senior String opening-round ensembles are:

Open to ensembles of between 3 and 6 members, the 2018 competition will be hosted in Senior String, Senior Wind and Junior Divisions.

Regarded as the United States' largest chamber music competition, the Grand Prize winning ensemble will receive USD $13,500 - and a number of important domestic and international performance opportunities.

This year’s Senior String division jury will comprise: violist Victoria Chiang, violinist Simin Ganatra, cellist Paul Katz, and pianist Anne-Marie McDermott.

This year’s Junior division jury will comprise: pianist Judith Gordon, cellist Daniel McDonough, bassoonist Ryan Reynolds, and violinist Janet Ying.

Since its founding in 1973, more than 6600 musicians have participated in the annual competition – including former 1st prize recipients VC Artists Calidore Quartet and the Dover Quartet.
