France's Jeunes Talents Hosts UNICEF Benefit Concert in Support of Turkey and Syria
The concert, which is taking donations for the cause, was organized by 19-year-old Turkish violinist Bartu Elçi-Özsoy
The Paris-based Association Jeunes Talents recently hosted a benefit concert to raise funds for those affected by the recent and devastating earthquakes in both Turkey and Syria. Run by UNICEF and patronized by the French president Emmanuel Macron, the concert was organized by the 19-year-old Turkish violinist Bartu Elçi-Özsoy, who appeared alongside pianist Clément Caillier.
A violinist, conductor, and composer, Elçi-Özsoy's talents were recognized early. He was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire aged just 15, where he studied with Alexis Galpérine. He is currently completing his master's degree under Sarah Nemtanu, the concertmaster of l’Orchestre National de France.
Elçi-Özsoy and Caillier performed a program of works by Fritz Kreisler, Ahmet Adnan Saygun, Manuel Ponce, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonin Dvořák, Johannes Brahms, Jules Massenet, Maurice Ravel, Gabriel Fauré, George Gershwin, and Béla Bartók.
A recording of the concert will be available to view on the RecitHall platform until April 25. If you are able, please make a donation to UNICEF in support of those in Turkey and Syria.
