SAD NEWS | Chicago Symphony 48 Year Veteran Francis Akos Has Died

Hungarian-American violinist and Holocaust survivor, Francis Akos has passed away - aged 93.

Mr Akos served as Assistant Principal 2nd Violinist, Principal 2nd Violinist and Assistant Concertmaster with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra from 1955 until his retirement in 2003.

Before moving the United States, he served as Concertmaster with the Budapest Symphony Orchestra, Hungarian Royal Opera Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
