Franz Schubert and Modern Music Competition Announces Finalists for 3 Categories
Tune in for the finals of the Piano Trio category on February 12, and the finals of the Piano Duo and Duo Lied categories on February 13
The 12th edition of the Franz Schubert and Modern Music Chamber Music Competition is currently taking place at the Kunstuniversität Graz.
The competition is split into three categories: Piano Trio, Duo Lied for piano and voice, and Piano Duo. The Semifinal rounds of each category are now available for playback and the Final rounds are being streamed LIVE on The Violin Channel!
The finalists are as follows.

The Piano Trio Final will be streamed on February 12 at 9:00 AM (ET), which is 3:00 PM in Austria.
The jury for the Piano trio category includes Chia Chou (chair), Vincent Coq, Ellen Margrete Flesjø, Thomas Hoppe, Anssi Karttunen, Minna Pensola, Isabelle van Keulen, and Katharina Wincor.
The first prize for the Piano Trio category is €13,500 plus individual career consulting and guidance, the second prize consists of €9,750, and the third prize comes with € 6,750.
There will also be a special prize of €1,500 for the best interpretation of the prizewinning work of the International Piano Trio Composition Competition.
The total prize pool for the competition is worth more than €74,000.

The Duo Lied final will be streamed on February 13 | 9:00 AM (ET), 3:00 PM in Austria.
The jury for the Duo Lied category includes Joseph Breinl (chair), Lina Maria Åkerlund, Iain Burnside, Samuel Hasselhorn, Manuela Kerer, Toby Spence, Pauliina Tukiainen, and Sarah Wegener.
The first prize includes € 9,000 plus career consulting and guidance, second prize consists of € 6,500, and third prize comes with € 4,500.
Two special prizes, each worth € 1,000, are given for the best interpretation of the commissioned work of Annette Schlünz, and the best interpretation of a Franz Schubert or Anselm Hüttenbrenner Lied in the finals.

The Piano Duo final will be streamed on February 13 at 3:00 AM (ET), 9:00 AM in Austria.The jury for the Piano duo category includes Sivan Silver-Garburg and Gil Garburg (chairs), Carlo Fabiano, Rico Gulda, Götz Schumacher, Adrienne Soós, Arie Vardi, Lena-Lisa Wüstendörf, and Shani Diluka.
The first prize includes € 9,000 plus individual career advice and support, second prize is worth € 6,500, and third prize consists of € 4,500.
There is a special prize of € 1,000 given for the best interpretation of a work by a female composer.
