French Conductor Ariane Matiakh Signs with Askonas Holt
Matiakh, who is Principal Conductor of the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen, will receive worldwide representation from the British agency
The French conductor Ariane Matiakh will be represented by Rachel Bertaut and Isabella Bartlett at the UK-based Askonas Holt agency.
Originally a pianist, Matiakh studied conducting at the University of Vienna, during which time she also sang in the renowned Arnold Schoenberg Choir under conductors including Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Adam Fischer. She also spent time training with Leopold Hager, Yuji Yuasa, and Seiji Ozawa.
Matiakh is about to enter her second season as Principal Conductor of the Württembergische Philharmonie Reutlingen. In the 2023/24 season, she will also make debuts at the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, as well as returning to the Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre du Capitole de Toulouse, and Orchestre Métropolitain.
She was nominated for a GRAMMY Award following the release of her Capriccio recording of both piano concertos by Zara Levina with the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra. She has also recorded the works of Johanna Doderer and disc of music by Francis Poulenc and Jean Françaix, for the same label.
In 2022, Matiakh was made an Officier de l’Ordre des Arts des Lettres by the French ministry of culture.
