French double-bassist and composer Gildas Delaporte has passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer - aged 54

French double-bassist and composer Gildas Delaporte has passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer - aged 54.

Gildas served as a member of the South Netherlands Philharmonic for 30 years - and performed regularly with the Brabant Orkest, in Holland.
