Today is French violin virtuoso Patrice Fontanarosa's 74th birthday.

A former prize winner at the Marguerite Long-Jacques Thibaud International Violin Competition, Maestro Fontanarosa served as Concertmaster of the Orchestre National de France and Music Director of the Orchestre des Pays de Savoie – and has held a long term teaching Professorship at the Paris National Superior Conservatory of Music and Dance.
