Hawaiian-born composer and educator Professor Dennis Kam has passed away - aged 76

Hawaiian-born composer and educator Professor Dennis Kam has passed away - aged 76.

A graduate of Oberlin Conservatory of Music, the Salzburg Mozarteum, the University of Hawaii, the Toho Gakuen and the University of Illinois, Professor Kam served as the Chair of the Music Theory and Composition Department at the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music from 1976 until his retirement in 2012.

In addition, he served as Composer-in-Residence with the South Florida Youth Symphony Orchestra.
