An online GoFundMe campaign has been launched this month to help raise urgent funds for New York-based freelance violinist Elektra Kurtis – who is battling an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Elektra underwent invasive brain surgery earlier this month to remove a tumorous mass 3x5 centimeters in size from her pre-frontal cortex.

Elektra's support team is hoping to raise US $40,000 to aid her with living expenses, medical treatments and lost work whilst she is in recovery.
