German Conductor Georg Schmöhe has Died, Aged 81

Once a director of several orchestras, he was most recently the Chief Conductor of the Munich Symphony
A graduate of the Berlin Hochschule fur Musik and the Milan Conservatory, Schmöhe’s mentors included Sergiu Celibidache and Herbert von Karajan.
He led the Munich Philharmonic from 2006 to 2013 after leading the Venezuela Symphony Orchestra, Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, and Innsbruck Symphony Orchestra.
