GoFundMe Set Up for Mental Health Causes in Memory of Violinist
All donations will support the charity MusiCares, as well as a new Haiden Davis scholarship at CU Denver's LYNX camp
A fundraiser has been set up to honor the memory of Haiden Davis, a violinist and producer who recently died by suicide aged 26.
Originally training as a classical violinist, Davis studied at the University of Colorado at Denver — where his training encompassed a wide range of styles including classical, jazz, and hip hop. He was co-founder of the Latin jazz band Ojo De Luna and performed around the world.
Set up in his memory, all donations to the fund will be donated to MusiCares, an organization that supports musicians with mental health and addiction recovery, health services, and support with basic living expenses like rent, utilities, car payments, and insurance premiums.
In addition, donations will be put towards the newly-established Haiden Davis Scholarship Fund for CU Denver’s LYNX Camp — of which Davis was an alumnus.
You can donate to the fundraiser here.
"We want to speak openly about this — because so many musicians (and non-musicians alike) face similar battles, often without access to the support they deserve," wrote Davis's friend Mia Asano.
"Thank you for helping us honor Haiden’s legacy — through music, compassion, and the hope of healing for others."
