Applications Open for 1st Goldstein International Violin Competition, Switzerland

Applications are now open for the inaugural 2015 Goldstein International Violin Competition, in Bern, Switzerland – to be held from the 22-31st January 2015.
Launched by Zakhar Bron, teacher to such luminaries as Vadim Repin and Maxim Vengerov, the competition will serve to honour Professor Bron's former mentor, Soviet virtuoso Boris Goldstein.
Open to violinists of any nationality aged 11-30, the 1st prize winner to receive CHF 15,000 (US$16,000).
The jury will include Zahkar Bron, Igor Ozim, Viktor Pikayzen, Ida Haendel and Yair Kless.
Applications to be received by 1st November, 2014.
