American Composer Awarded 2017 $100,000 Grawemeyer Composition Prize
American composer Andrew Norman has been awarded the 2017 $100,000 Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition
37 year old American composer Andrew Norman has been announced as the 2017 recipient of the prestigious USD $100,000 Grawemeyer Award for Music Composition – for his 45 minute orchestral work ‘Play’.
The winning work was composed for the 2013 Boston Modern Orchestra Project and was recently performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
A graduate of the University of Southern California and Yale University, Andrew is a former Grammy Award nominee and former runner-up for a Pulitzer Prize for Music.
