Violinist Gwendolyn Masin's New Single, "Vitali Chaconne"

Released on Orchid Classics, the single features Tomaso Antonio Vitali's Chaconne in G Minor

Violinist Gwendolyn Masin has released a new single with organist Francesca Ajossa. Released on Orchid Classics, the single features Tomaso Antonio Vitali's Chaconne in G Minor.

Often attributed to the Baroque period composer Vitali, its authorship is often debated. The work has been transcribed and arranged several times, with the Dresden manuscript being the earliest version of the chaconne in existence.

The Chaconne presents a set of variations over a repeating bass line that showcase the emotional and technical demands of Baroque violin music.
