OUT NOW | Hermitage Piano Trio's New CD: 'Rachmaninoff' [LISTEN]
Reference Recordings has announced the release of the Hermitage Piano Trio's new album: 'Rachmaninoff'
Reference Recordings has this month announced the release of the Hermitage Piano Trio's new album: Rachmaninoff.
The disc features Rachmaninoff's Trio élégiaque No. 1 in G minor and No. 2 in D minor - coupled with Julius Conus' piano trio arrangement of Rachmaninoff's Vocalise Op. 34 No. 14.
"When we as a group sat down to think about which repertoire we wanted to present to the world as our first CD recording, we decided that it would be a Russian composer in honor of our heritage ... and Rachmaninoff was the choice as we love the music ..." violinist Misha Keylin has told The Violin Channel.
"We were also surprised to find out about the Julius Conus' transcription of the Vocalise ... and since no one has commercially recorded it before we felt it was the perfect icing on the cake ..." he has said.
"Our approach is simple: music first ... we have to use our own individual abilities to forge three different instruments into one voice and communicate what we feel Rachmaninoff’s music means to us back to the listener ... to play as one would be the highest compliment we can ever receive."
